Who is Sonia E. Lopez? Where to start.. There are so many words that come to mind. The one that stands out mostly is loving. Sonia cares about the world, those around her and the impact she can inspire in those she coaches & teaches. The second word I would choose would be Non-judgemental. When you come from a place of love, judgement does not exist. Support and empathy does. I feel this every time Sonia and I have spoken. She brings out the best in me by challenging my worst fears and assumptions. The third word would be real. Sonia can look in the mirror and not only love her flaws but see them and accept them. This gift allows her to be there for others wholeheartedly. I have the utmost respect for Sonia as a teacher. I am better because of her! ~ Katie C
Sonia coached me in facing my fear of public speaking. 2 years ago before my book, "Out of Status", was published, I was apprehensive -- finding different excuses not to press that "publish" button because I knew I had to market my book, which meant I had to speak in front of people. Sonia made me see the bigger picture, she helped me visualize myself speaking on stage which released my fear. As a result, of my public speaking engagements, I have been thanked for "being an inspiration." Since then, I had been to different immigration forums and legal clinics -- which helped immigrants, shared my family's story in various book clubs, different platforms, television shows in NY and the Philippines. I facilitated the rescue of a Filipino worker who's a victim of human trafficking, braved the television cameras by being one of the co-hosts of "Makilala", the first Filipino-American TV talk show. I currently took on the task of leading the SCholarship Program that helps feed and get kids to school. Sonia can read through my fears and can tap into my potentials -- she guided me in spreading my wings and believing in what I can do -- not just for me but for other people. ~ Jen Furer, Author Out of Status
Before Sonia's workshop, I found myself in a rut. I was at the point to giving up. I was very unhappy and my body suffered greatly from the stress level I was living. I had some ideas of what I could do to change my situation but I felt overwhelmed by the challenge. In Sonia's workshop I found the tools to shift my mindset, Sonia's words that day helped me to understand myself better, to come up with a plan, and to deal with my feelings of unhappiness and uncertainty. It did require a step outside my comfort zone but it was certainly worth it. I quickly regained my inner strength and overcame this low point. I'm now feeling happier about the direction of my life and I am ready to enjoy all the fun things life has to offer! I highly recommend Sonia's coaching! She has such a grounded, giving energy. She truly cares about each and every client and constantly stays in touch with you on your journey. She is a delight to have in your life!! ~ Jesse Angulo
